Comments: I have used the washing nuts for years and are quite pleased with them. I love the idea that washing with a 100% organic detergents. Have had more use of them for my children's clothes which have always gotten soft and fresh!
The smell of the clothes after washing with the nuts will be as neutral and refreshed so that you get used to it! Some of my customers think, however, that the clothes have a smell that likened vinegar. I have not experienced it, but if you feel the same as I recommend using 2-3 less nuts at the laundry and add essential oil (lemon, lavender or eucalyptus) for rinsing.
If you want a more exact dosage, or use the washing nuts to clean at home then you should cook 250gr washing nuts in a liter of water. Boil for 5 min. Let the liquid kallnas and then strain it to further store in a bottle. Keep it in a dark place. You can use a 1/2 tablespoon of this preparation to a regular wash. The same dosage to clean the whole house!
A kilo of washing nuts lasts about 60 washes where the average weight of the laundry is 7kg.
If you feel that your white wash is not really white, I recommend using hydrogen peroxide water (9%) (an environmentally friendly, biodegradable substance), half a tablespoon will be enough for a regular wash. This should be added to the detergent tray with baking soda. The laundry is really white!
